  • , a public comprehensive community college with a 74-year tradition of excellence, is the only community college in New Jersey with four complete campuses.
     
  • UCC's primary mission is the provision of the highest quality of collegiate and career education allowing for students to transfer to four-year colleges and universities and for immediate entry into a career.
     
  • UCC provides students an opportunity to realize their highest intellectual, social, cultural and personal development.
     
  • UCC offers 100 programs or options leading to the two-year Associate in Arts, Associate in Science and the Associate in Applied Science degrees, and programs leading to a Certificate and a Diploma as well as online degree programs.
     
  • UCC, in conjunction with the Schools of Nursing at Trinitas Hospital, Elizabeth NJ, and Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center, Plainfield, NJ, conducts a Cooperative Program in Professional Nursing. An Amplified Program in Radiography and programs in Nuclear Medicine Technology,  Radiation Therapy, and Diagnostic Medical Sonography are also jointly offered with Muhlenberg's Harold B. & Dorothy A. Snyder Schools.
     
  • UCC's Cranford Campus continues to expand, and includes a new third floor to MacKay Library. The first and second floors of MacKay Library were renovated to provide for an information commons, upgraded lighting and new furniture.
     
  • UCC's Elizabeth Campus features programs in computer science, engineering technologies, intensive English for speakers of other languages, cooperative program in nursing with Trinitas Hospital as well as a broad selection of liberal arts and science courses.
     
  • UCC's Plainfield Campus is the site of the American sign language/deaf studies, gerontology, intensive English for speakers of other languages, cooperative nursing program with Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center, practical nursing,  physical therapist assistant, and paramedic programs. Liberal arts and science courses are also offered.
     
  • UCC offers joint degree programs in dental hygiene and dental assisting at the Scotch Plains Campus with the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, School of Health Related Professions.
     
  • UCC is accredited by the Commission on Higher Education of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools and all of its Allied Health and Nursing Programs hold professional accreditation from agencies such as the American Dental Association, the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs, the Joint Review Committee on Educational Programs in Nuclear Medicine Technology, the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences  and the National League of Nursing.
     
  • UCC's highly credentialed and experienced faculty teach, advise and mentor students. They also conduct tutoring sessions in the Academic Learning Centers located at each of the campuses.
     
  • UCC provides academic, career and personal intervention support to its students through professional counselors.
     
  • UCC provides opportunities to students for participation in a variety of activities which include intercollegiate and intramural athletics, student government, honor societies such as Phi Theta Kappa, Tau Alpha Pi, Mu Alpha Theta and Psi Beta along with numerous other clubs and organizations.
