About UCC - Enrollment

Eleven thousand six hundred and seventy-two students (11,672) enrolled in the Fall semester of 2007, of whom forty-six percent (5,397) were full-time and fifty-four percent (6,275) were part-time students.
From 2001 - 2007, the number of credit hours generated by enrollments increased.

Sixty-four percent (7,444) of the students enrolled in Fall 2007 were females and thirty-six percent (4,228) were males. Thirty-five percent (1,497) of males and twenty-four percent (1,791) of the female population were 18 to 20 years old.

Of the 11,672 students enrolled at UCC during Fall 2007, 95% (11,046) were from New Jersey, and approximately 83% (9,736) resided in Union County.

The ethnic profile of the Fall 2008 class was the following: thirty-two percent (3,817) White, non-Hispanic; twenty-seven percent Black, non- Hispanic (3231); thirty-one percent (3,643) Hispanic; six percent (717) Asian/Pacific Islander; three percent (354) non-resident alien and one percent (104) were Native American.

During the Fall 2008 semester twenty-eight percent (3,314) of the students enrolled were liberal arts majors. Twenty-five percent (2,996) of the students elected their major from health sciences and another fourteen percent (1,617) chose their major from accounting and business related fields.
In 2008, there was an increase in matriculated full-time students by approximately 4.5% or 437 students.
