About UCC - HIV/AIDS And AIDS-Related Conditions Policy

HIV/AIDS AND AIDS-RELATED CONDITIONS POLICY STATEMENT

Union County College believes that employees and students who suffer from AIDS, its related conditions such as ARC, and persons with zero positive test results continue to be valued employees and students of Union County College.  This policy is based on respect for the individual employee or student and recognizes that any employee or student suffering from a potentially terminal illness may want to maintain a normal lifestyle for as long as the condition allows.  This may include continuing to work or attend College, and Union County College allows for this as long as the employee or student maintains acceptable performance standards and the medical evidence indicates that there is no health or safety risk to the faculty, staff, student or others.

HIV-infected individuals are considered disabled under New Jersey law.
