TITLE: Evening/Weekend Administrator - Two (2) Positions
DEPARTMENT: Counseling
REPORTS TO: Director of Counseling
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 19 hours per week. Flexible schedule.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Evening/Weekend Administrator’s position has administrative and counseling responsibility in the areas of recruitment, admissions, academic placement testing, records, registration, academic advising, student activities, and financial aid. In addition, serves as an administrative liaison with the evening and weekend faculty and is the official College Administrator on duty. The Evening/Weekend Administrator reports to the Assistant Dean for Enrollment Management / Counseling Services.
TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provides academic advising, redirection counseling and support services for students.
2. Provides assistance with enrollment/registration, which includes data entry responsibility.
3. Provides new students with pre-enrollment advisement.
4. Refers students to appropriate counselor when assistance requested is not general in nature.
5. Assists faculty with students experiencing difficulty related to personal, vocational, and academic concerns/issues.
6. Manages crisis intervention procedure in conjunction with the Public Safety Department.
7. Assists students with chargeback eligibility assistance.
8. Provides general information on student billing and financial aid programs.
9. When made aware of course cancellations or room changes, places notices on classroom doors as needed.
10. Works closely with other Evening/Weekend Administrators to ensure coverage is maintained.
11. Provides information to and serves as a resource for all areas of the College.
12. Remains current with College programs, policies and procedures.
13. Maintains appropriate records. Provides a summative report when required.
14. Performs any other related duties as directed by supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: Masters Degree in Student Personnel or related area required.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum one year experience in Higher Education.
KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
· Familiarity with areas of Student Personnel Services.
· Ability to counsel students.
· Proficiency in report writing and editing.
· Ability to communicate and write effectively with diverse student body and staff.
· Proficiency in personal computer applications such as Access and Windows. Familiarity with computerized Student Information Management System preferred.
· Bilingual preferred.
