TITLE: Part Time Instructional Consultant - Biology
DEPARTMENT: YWC College Bound
REPORTS TO: College Bound Director
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Saturday Academic September 1, 2009-June 30, 2010. 22 Saturdays
GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Responsible for providing general, career and academic counseling to students enrolled in the YWC Scholars/College Bound Program.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provides academic, personal, financial and career counseling to students in grades 9-12.
2. Assist the coordinator in the assessment of the student non-cognitive skills.
3. Distributes information concerning college admissions and financial aid regulations.
4. Performs various administrative tasks that are needed to maintain the overall functioning of the counseling component.
5. Conduct individual and group counseling sessions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s Degree preferred
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of two years experience in counseling student from diversified background.
KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of career, personal and academic counseling models.
- Ability to communicate.
- Ability to use computer technology to enhance career and academic counseling instructions.
