TITLE: Recruiter - Health Careers - Grant Funded Position
DEPARTMENT: Recruitment
REPORTS TO: Assistant Director of Recruitment
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 35 hours per week. Flexible work schedule that may include day, evening, and weekend work hours. Employee may be assigned to work on multiple UCC campuses. Travel to off campus locations is required. Grant Funded Position.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Provide outreach activities to recruit students and to raise their awareness of healthcare field opportunities. Works with faculty, staff and other personnel to develop and implement recruitment strategies.
TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Represents UCC at high schools, middle schools, youth organizations and community agencies throughout Union County and neighboring counties to promote Allied Health education.
Recruit students for allied health careers and assist them through the admissions process.
Remains current regarding Allied Health careers and program information.
Facilitate UCC registration for students at the Academy for Allied Health Sciences and serve as liaison to Allied Health Sciences as assigned.
Enforce UCC academic standards and policies and advise AAHS students on degree requirements.
Partner with Coordinator of Retention – Allied Health on retention activities as needed.
Collect and provide data for grant reporting as needed.
Plan and coordinate programming specific to Allied Health programs, including but not limited to recruitment, job fairs and transfer fairs, both on and off campus.
Serve as liaison to UMDNJ School of Health Related Professions as assigned.
Other related duties as assigned.
Provide outreach to area high school teacher, administrators, and counselors as well as students to promote Allied Health Education.
Provide program information to potential career students in regards to program requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS/COMPETENCIES/SKILLS:
Bachelor’s Degree required.
Excellent Customer Service skills.
Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Must be able to work evenings, weekends and flexible schedules as needed.
Must have ability to communicate effectively with a diverse student body.
Must demonstrate excellent communication skills, both verbally and written.
Must be able to prepare and give effective individual and group presentations.
Must be able to operate standard office automation and software applications.
Ability to work as an effective member of an Enrollment Management team.
Must demonstrate a commitment to the ideals of a community college.
Student Recruitment Experience preferred.
Knowledge of health care environment preferred.
