About UCC - Inserting a Picture on to Your Desktop

You can find a picture to insert onto the background of  your desktop.  There are many sources for pictures.  You can use a program like Corel Draw or use one of the pictures in Microsoft Office.  But the most common source is the World Wide Web.  There are hundreds of thousands of pictures you can download from museums, art galleries, and other collections.  Here's how:

Open your Web browser.

  • Go to Google (www.google.com).
  • Type art museums or pictures or the name of a specific site you know has pictures.  Hit Enter.
  • Find a picture you like.
  • Right-click on the picture.  Choose Set as Wallpaper.  Close your browser.
  • The picture will appear on your desktop in the background.  It will not fill the entire screen.
  • If you would like the picture to fill the entire background, choose the Start button in the lower-left corner of your screen.
  • Click on Settings/Control Panel.
  • Double-click on Display and choose the Plus! tab.
  • The last item is Stretch desktop wallpaper to fit screen.  Check that.  Click Apply and then click OK to close the window.
