As Chair of the Economics, Government, History Department at Union County College, I welcome you to our departments website. Our programs in American Studies, Urban Studies, International Studies offer a two-year Associate Degree. We have a new one-year certificate program in Public Policy. Our multi-discipline department provides both elective and required courses in economics, government, geography, Western Civilization, American History, Afro-American History, and philosophy. For the first time we are offering a new course in Logic and Critical Thinking.
Our department is staffed by nine full-time members and twenty adjunct faculty. All have at least their Masters degrees in their subject areas and many have doctorates. We are a highly professional department geared mainly toward the transfer student. Our courses fulfill the general education requirements in the humanities, history, diversity studies, and social sciences at transfer institutions as well as being the survey courses for those majoring in our discipline areas.
