   Academics - Sociology Online

SOCIOLOGY ONLINE

worldThere are four sociology courses which are taught totally online. These courses will use the power of the Internet to deliver online learning that is independent of time and location. Rather than meeting in a classroom, you and your instructor interact online in a forum using Web Course Tool (WebCT). You can use this Internet-based application to access course content, take tests, submit homework and interact with the instructor.

computer3Online courses will benefit you in a number of ways. They provide you with an opportunity of anytime, anywhere learning. You can access the class either from your home or elsewhere and thus online courses will accommodate your schedule. In an online environment, you interact with the instructor via email and in a form of chat, and more interestingly, you participate in class discussion and ask questions/receive feedback on bulletin board. In this way, class discussion activities will be designed as dynamics to foster critical thinking and problems solving. Finally, supplemental material from the Web, along with well-prepared lecture outlines, will become a basis of "escalator" to enhance active learning.

Sociology online courses are web-based, students-oriented, and technology-focused. It will provide you with the same quality instruction and service as the traditional mode of delivery. Sociology online courses will allow you to extend the boundaries of the classroom and help you to survive in "Information society" of the twenty-first century.
