SOC 101-077         Principles of Sociology

Thirty-six      30 minute videotapes

The principles of sociology telecourse takes an in-depth look at the socialization process, social inequalities, work ethics, social control, sex roles, education, the changing American family and social institutions. Through interviews and close examination, the course explores the social conditions of the present and how they relate to the attitudes of the recent past.

SOC 206-077            MINORITY IN AMERICAN LIFE

3 Credits
Prerequisite: SOC 101

Minority in American Life is a college-credit telecourse that investigates the history and present status of minority-majority relations in American society, focusing upon ethnic, racial, and religious minorities. Special attention is given to such issues as the origin of prejudice and discrimination and the tensions and conflicts inherent in inter-group relations. Possible resolutions ae discussed.
