Project Learn Program Page

"Project Learn" is designed to provide an opportunity for "Work First New Jersey" participants to receive job-targeted specific occupational skill training at the same time that they are receiving valuable work experience at a community work site.  the program includes orientation, mentoring, counseling, job development, site placement at community institutions and permanent job placement.  Students receive at home instruction and also receive traditional classroom instruction.

The courses are taught through use of interactive software that provides several advantages over traditional classroom learning.  The students learn at their own pace and  the software provides a high level of interaction critical for individualization of learning.   The active involvement of the participants ensures academic growth and fosters positive attitudinal changes concerning, self, learning, and work.  Selected  project participants training in specific "in-demand" occupations, as projected by the NJ Department of Labor, are provided computers for use in their homes for a twelve-week period.
