The Division of Economic Development and Continuing Education at UCC provides professional development and personal enrichment opportunities for individuals who live or work in Union County.

As part of its commitment to the concept of lifelong learning, the Division schedules these non-credit continuing education courses and seminars in the evenings, on weekends, and during daytime hours that are convenient for adults who cannot attend classes during more traditional time periods.  In addition, the Division offers many continuing education courses online, via the Internet.

The New Pathways to Teaching in New Jersey (NPTNJ) program is established as a Statewide consortium among New Jersey City University, collaborating NJ community colleges and affiliated school districts in New Jersey. The program is designed to provide alternate route education certification programs to qualified candidates as part of   their collective response to statewide and local needs for certified teachers.

Certificate Programs (non-credit) are part of the ongoing continuing education offerings.  Currently, the Continuing Education Division offers over 40 non-credit certificate programs(All links below are in PDF format):

The UCC College for Kids offers non-credit programs for youth, ages 4-16. During the Fall and Spring semesters, the Division schedules Saturday courses and workshops on a variety of topics, such as reading and math enhancement, astronomy, and martial arts, as well as creative and visual arts.  In the Summer, Continuing Education offers the unique and popular, NEWS and AMUSE, SPACE STATION UCC, and THEATER CAMP programs.  Also, the Division offers a Summer Sports Spectacular that includes intensive instruction in baseball, soccer, basketball, golf, and tennis.

Fitness Center located on the Cranford campus is operated by Student Services and offers state-of-the-art equipment at affordable rates.
