This course is designed to provide educational Sign Language/English interpreting students with an overview and an understanding of the development of children from conception to adolescence; The interaction of physical, cognitive, emotional, linguistic, social and cultural factors within developmental stages; In addition, the students will have an understanding of the deaf and hard of hearing child from a developmental perspective; Students will compare the development of children with out specialized needs with the development and issues facing children and families with specialized needs. 3 lecture hours, 3 credits. | |
