  Second half of a two-semester sequence, which focuses on the continued development of the student's skill in writing expository prose as well as an introduction to literature.  Prerequisite: ENG 089, if needed; ENG 101.  3 lecture hours and 1 conference hour per week.  3 credit hours

Testing:
  English 102 is a course that focuses on the continued development of a student's skill in writing expository prose as well as an introduction to literature. We will practice a variety of ways of responding to literary works, including bulletin-board discussions, activities, short essays, and a research project. Students will be guided in the use of critical apparatus and in the skills necessary for good writing. Students are not required to attend any on-campus sessions.
