A course designed for students with little or no previous experience with algebra. The course will cover signed numbers, exponents, the solutions of equations, and verbal problems. Prerequisite: MAT 011 or satisfactory performance on the College Basic Skills Placement Test. 3 lecture hours per week. 3 credit hours.

Ungraded and graded homework assignment after each section. On campus midterm and Final exam. Exception will be given to students who cannot come to campus due to distance, disability, time constraints, etc. to arrange for a proctored exam in an appropriate site (a local college test center, library, etc.). Students need to make such arrangements.
