  Introduction to foundations of the scientific study of human social life, to theories and methods of sociology, and to such basic concepts as culture, society, social organization, social stratification, and social change.  Prerequisite:  ENG 088, ENG 098, if required, or permission of instructor.  3 lecture hours per week. 3 credit hours.

Testing Information:
  Basic Sociology will give students the necessary foundation to better understand society and how it functions in a changing international arena. Basic terminology will be covered along with historical and current sociological perspectives. After taking this course, the student will be able to generalize conceptual sociological information on an abstract level. This will allow the student to incorporate this knowledge into their other courses throughout their college career and in the workplace.
