If you are requesting a Federal Stafford Student Loan, simply complete the three steps below once you have completed your FAFSA and submitted all required documents. You can check your status on e-services.
- Complete the Loan Request Form
- You must complete a Loan Request Form each academic year
- Complete your Entrance Counseling
- Entrance Counseling is required by federal law of all students who wish to borrow through the Federal Stafford Student Loan program. Entrance Counseling will help you understand all of your rights and responsibilities as a borrower
- Be sure to print out a copy of your confirmation page
- Complete a Master Promissory Note (MPN)
- The MPN is an agreement between you and your lender. You and the lender agree to the terms of the loan and you promise to repay the loan
- The above link will take you to a list of common lenders - you can select one of these lenders or any other lender of your choice
- Be sure to print out a copy of your signed and completed MPN
Once you have completed these three items, bring them to your nearest financial aid office. You can also fax or mail them in.
If you or your parents would like to borrow a PLUS or alternative private loan, please complete all loan forms with your lending. Then complete and submit the Loan Request Form to our office.
