Union County College participates in the Federal Work-Study Program (FWS). Its purpose is to give part-time employment to undergraduate students who need the income to help meet the cost of postsecondary education. Positions are located on-campus and at off-campus locations in community service activities. Community service activities are identified by the UCC Financial Aid Office through consultation with local nonprofit, governmental, and community-based organizations. They are designed to improve the quality of life for community residents, particularly low income individuals, or to solve particular problems related to their needs. - Student may be eligible for the FWSP based on the following criteria.
- Financial Need - FWSP is made reasonably available to the extent that funds are available, to all students that demonstrate financial need.
- Students interested in the FWSP must complete an Institutional Federal Work-Study application.
- Combined aid cannot exceed financial need.
- Students must be matriculated in an eligible program and making satisfactory academic progress.
