Library - Description of Renovated MacKay Library 2006

The fully renovated MacKay Library has much to offer students. The entire two-story library was renovated and refurbished top to bottom from 2003 to 2006 including new furniture, carpeting, lighting and painting. The library remained open throughout the entire renovation, not closing for even one day! The original building dates from 1973 so it has been over thirty years since the library was designed and installed. Much has changed in the last thirty years in libraries, research and technology. Teaching styles and student learning styles have also changed. The new MacKay Library is fully wired and has a flexible design to meet current student needs and those in the future.

New features include:

  • New open reference/information commons area with 38 computers with specialized furniture.

  • 28 seat/computer hands on library instruction lab
