There is a wealth of chemistry-related material on the Web, although it is necessary to sort through what is retrieved in order to select the most useful information. Some resources, such as the Librarian's Index to the Internet evaluate sites by their content, assisting the searcher in determining a site's viability.
The following list contains links to several excellent databases and other Internet sources. Each contains a brief description of a site's scope and content. Site coverage includes academic, industrial, and pharmaceutical industries. The list ends with career sites of interest to those considering work in the field of chemistry. Particularly noteworthy is the last site in this section, which lists unconventional occupations and professions possible with a chemistry background, and highlights how having a chemistry degree can be a marketable building block.
