Union County College and the Women’s Basketball Program Salute Our 2008 Sophomores

The Union County College women’s basketball program is very proud to recognize four sophomores who have all made significant contributions to the team for the last two seasons. These young women have done an outstanding job of representing the women’s basketball program, the athletic department and Union County College.

Porscha Isom
Our very own “might-mouse” is power-packed, athletic & an excellent leaper. She is a great ball handler with both her left and right hand, and she has a dead-eye for the 3pt shot. Porscha brings great energy to the court with her speed, ability to break down the defense & great interior passes. She has truly developed into a “go to” point guard with a career total thus far of 244 points, 172 assist, 108 rebounds, & 68 steals. Porscha will be missed as she moves on to further both her academic and athletic career.

Sharae Belvin
As a walk-on her freshman year, Sharae has worked extremely hard everyday to improve as a basketball player & has become a vital part of the Lady Owl Basketball Program. Known as our “defensive specialist”, Sharae has the responsibility of stopping our opponent’s best offensive player night after night. She has not only fulfilled this job, but she has also improved her shooting, averaging 42.9 % from the 3pt line. Sharae also leads our team off the court with a 3.7 GPA. Her intense defense and her unique giggles will be missed as she moves on to continue her academic career.

Dorian Jackson
Although she did not get the recognition last year, Dorian is one of the key factors in the success of the Lady Owl Basketball Program over the past 2 years. As one of our captains this year, she has a career total of 613 points, 398 rebounds, 85steals, & 26 blocked shots. She is most noted for her “Love in Basketball” follow through on her shots and her ability to pull down critical rebounds. She has brought a well needed post presence & will be missed by all as she moves on to further her academic and athletic career.

Allukeshia Guy
Known to many as the female “Dennis Rodman”, Keshia has been our “X” factor. At only a mere 5’7, she can defend the guard or small post, rips down crucial rebounds, proves to be our engine that takes a licking but keeps on ticking. She is extremely tough and has improved her shooting game tremendously. Also a captain this year, Keshia is considered to be a huge factor in the success of the Lady Owl Basketball Program with career totals thus far of 528 points, 565 rebounds, 154 steals & 70 assists. She will be sorely missed as she moves on to continue her academic & athletic career.
