WELCOME TO THE WOMEN'S BASKETBALL PROGRAM


The Women’s Basketball program has been around for over 30 years, and achieved tremendous success. The Lady Owls won their first Garden State Athletic Conference and Region XIX titles in 1977 under Hall of Fame Head Coach Fred Perry. In 1996 and 1997 under Head Coach Donna Herran, also in the Hall of Fame, the Lady Owls won back to back Region XIX, GSAC, and District titles. The program has transferred or graduated over 200 student-athletes. There have been 19 All-Americans and numerous conference, regional, and national individual award winners. To this date many Lady Owl’s still hold Region XIX and/or National records. Overall, the women’s basketball team has a won-lost record of 682-263, 13 GSAC titles, 7 Region XIX titles, 2 District titles, and has appeared in the NJCAA tournament 5 times. The team is currently supervised by Head Coach Cheryl Bell, who led them in becoming GSAC and Region XIX Champs in the 2006-2007 season. The program continues to thrive and award scholarships to many of its athletes.
