Anne Degenhardt - Women's Basketball

Anne Degenhardt, Class of 1994, Women’s Basketball

Anne was a Kodak All-American, All-Region and All-Conference player and Junior College Player of the year. Anne was named Player of the week in NJ three times. Anne Graduated from Monmouth University on an Athletic Scholarship.

Karen Kreitz - Women's Basketball

Karen Kreitz, Class of 1994, Women’s Basketball

Karen was a Kodak All-American, All-Region and All-GSAC player. She was also named Junior College Player of the Year. Karen holds a National record in 3-point Shooting Percentage at 53%. Karen was also a member of the Union County College Women’s Softball team. Karen was offered an Athletic Scholarship from Long Island University but decided to attend Montclair State University. Karen graduated from Montclair University and has a Masters from Rutgers University

Ted Tharney - Soccer Coach

Professor Thaddeus Tharney, Coach-Men’s (1988-1995) and Women’s Soccer (1985-87)

Professor Tharney started teaching at Union County College in 1969. He coached both the Men’s and Women’s Soccer Teams and help initiate the 3-person “collegiate” officiating system. He also established a peer tutoring system to help improve the student athletes’ academic performance. Professor Tharney was also the Head Coach of Select Soccer Travel teams, Youth Soccer Teams and the Assistant Director of the Catskill Soccer Camp.

Dr. Stephen Parker - Team Physician

Dr. Stephen Parker, Team Physician

Dr. Parker is a Board Certified primary care physician and served as the Union County College Team Physician from 1968-2001. He also worked as a team physician in Colorado Springs Olympic Training Facility for our Olympic Teams. He was the team physician for the Metro Stars, Professional Soccer team and a Professional Arena Football Team. Dr. Parker did much to help the athletes at Union County College.
