   Student Services - 1999 Athletics Hall Of Fame Induction Ceremony   

Inducted on October 1st were:  Former Men's Basketball standouts, Ben Candelino of Holmdel and Bruce Burnett of Elizabeth.  From the Women's Basketball Team, T.C. Flynn-Morris of Canton, Ohio, Nancy Foster of Union; Joan Harris-Polidore; and Kathi Penczak of Linden.  Soccer athletes were Gino LaBate of Cranford; Jack Casais of Newark; Donna Garbinski-Dunn of Clark; Grant Cuthill of Basking Ridge; and Diego Ospina of Orlando, Florida.  Verlaine Noelsaint of Elizabeth was inducted along with golfers Mike LaBrutto of Cranford and Len Siter of Roselle Park.  Other members of  the College community that were honored were staunch supporter Jack Zissel of Union and former Coach Fred Perry now of Virginia Beach, Virginia.

The ceremony was made possible by a grant from the Union County College Foundation, and a "Hall of Fame" plaque engraved with the name of each honoree was unveiled that evening.  The plaque has been permanently installed on the Cranford campus of Union County College.
