Saturday October 24, 2009: Owls Split with Bergen then lose to Passaic County College in Playoff Finals.

The Owls entered the post season Seeded second in Region XIX Div.III. In their first match against Bergen UCC lost 0-2. Mabel Mansing had 1 kill, 13 assists, and 7 digs, Carmen Taco-Garces had 3 kills, 7 blocks, 2 aces, and 5 digs, Aura Arteta had 1 kill, 3 blocks, 1 ace, and 15 digs, Christine Bausch had 5 kills, 1 block, 2 aces, and 8 digs, Renee Dobbs had 2 kills and 1 block, Olga Suchadolla had 2 kills and13 digs, Michelle Fuentes had 1 ace and 11 digs, and Lizeth Alejos had 6 digs. UCC will face the losing team of the Bergen Community College and Passaic Community College in the double elimination tournament.

Game 2: Semifinals

The Owls once again met Bergen Community College this time was positive for the Owls. Winning 2-1 and advanced to the championship match against Passaic County College. Mabel Mansing recorded 2 kills, 22 assists, and 10 digs, Carmen Taco-Garces had 3 kills, 2 blocks, and 1 ace, Aura Arteta finished with 6 kills, 6 blocks, 1 ace, and 8 digs, Christine Bausch had 3 kills, 2 aces, and 11 digs, Renee Dobbs had 7 kills and 2 blocks, Olga Suchadolla had 2 kills and 7 digs, Michelle Fuentes had 1 dig, and Lizeth Alejos had 1 ace and 12 digs.

Game 3: Championship Game

The Owls played Passaic County College in the Region XIX Championship Game, but after winning the game they lost the next 3 games and were eliminated. Mabel Mansing had 1 kill, 20 assists, and 6 digs, Carmen Taco-Garces had 3 kills, 4 blocks, and 16 digs, Aura Arteta had 3 kills, 3 blocks, 1 ace, and 15 digs, Christine Bausch had 6 kills, 1 block, 1 ace, and 34 digs, Renee Dobbs finished with 6 kills, 11 blocks, and 1 dig, Olga Suchadolla had 1 kill, 1 ace, 1 block, and 31 digs, Michelle Fuentes had 1 kill, and Lizeth Alejos had 2 aces and 9 digs. The Owls complete their season at 9-12 overall and 4-7 in the conference.

Thursday October 22, 2009: Volleyball Team Played to the Finish.

The Owls had their feathers ruffled as the College of New Jersey spoiled Sophomore Night. Mabel Mansing had 2 kills, 28 assists, 1 ace, and 7 digs, Carmen Taco-Garces had 9 kills, 2 assists, 1 block, and 19 digs, Aura Arteta had 1 kill, 4 blocks, 2 aces, and 25 digs, Christine Bauschj finished with 11 kills, 3 blocks, and 8 digs, Renee Dobbs had 3 kills, 8 blocks, 1 ace, and 4 digs, Olga Suchadolla had 1 assist, 1 ace, and 15 digs, Michelle Fuentes had 6 kills and 3 digs, and Lizeth Alejos had 1 kill and 13 digs.  UCC completed their regular season schedule with a loss bringing their record to 8-10 overall.  They will play in the first round of post season on Saturday October 24 at Bergen Community College at 9:30am.

Wednesday October 21, 2009:  Owls Drop Game To Morris.

The Ladies tried to get some momentum going against The County College of Morris, pushing the match to 5 games however, Morris came out on top. Mabel Mansing had 3 kills, 29 assists, 4 aces, and 8 digs, Carmen Taco-Garces had 13 kills, 1 assist, 1 block, 6 aces, and 19 digs,  Aura Arteta, 4 kills, 3 blocks, 2 aces, and 19 digs, Renee Dobbs, had 8 kills, 2 blocks, 1 ace, and 8 digs, Michelle Fuentes had 6 kills and 12 digs, and Lizeth Alejos had 1 ace and 22digs.  The will be looking to improve their record on Thursday October 22, 2009 at 8:00pm when they host The College of New Jersey to complete their regular season schedule.  The Owls are now 8-9 overall and 3-4 in the conference.

Tuesday October20, 2009: Owls Win In Four.

The Volleyball Team recorded a win over Kingborough College 3-1.  Mabel Mansing had 2 kills, 16 assists, 5 aces, and 8 digs, Carmen Taco-Garces had 8 kills, 2 assists, 1 block, 1 ace, and 22 digs, Aura Arteta had 6 kills, 1 assist, 2 blocks, and 24 digs, Michelle Fuentes finished with 5 kills, 3 aces, and 11 digs, Agnetta Montes De Oca had 3 aces and 13 digs, and Lizeth Alejos had 3 kills and 27 digs.  The Owls will wind down their regular schedule with back to back home games Wednesday the 21 and Thursday the 22nd of October, against the County College of Morris and The College of New Jersey.  Thursday's game is at 8:00pm.

Monday October 19, 2009:  Owls lose match in 4.

The Owls could not muster enough energy to fend off Bergen Community College, losing 1-3.  Mabel Mansing had 3 kills, 24 assists, 2 aces, and 16 digs, Carmen Taco-Garces had 5 kills, 6 assists, 2 blocks, 4 aces, and 13 digs, Aura Arteta had 8 kills, 6 blocks, 1 ace, and 10 digs, Christine Bausch finished with 9 kills, 1 ace, and 17 digs, Renee Dobbs, had 6 kills, 8 blocks, and 2 digs, Olga Suchadolla recorded 1 ace and 2 digs, Michelle Fuentes had 5 kills, 1 ace, and 8 digs, and Lizeth Alejos had 10 digs.  The Owls are now 7-8 overall.  They will travel to Kingsborough Community College on Tuesday October 20, 2009, for 7:00pm match.

Thursday October 15, 2009: Owls get swept by Nassau Community College.

The Owls experienced a difficult time trying to get going against a strong Nassau Community College losing in three straight games.  Mabel Mansing had 6 assists and 6 digs, Aura Arteta had 3 kills, 3 blocks, 1 ace, and 9 digs, Christine Bausch contributed with 3 kills, 1 ace, and 9 digs, Renee Dobbs had 2 kills, 3 blocks, and 2 digs, Olga Suchadola had 1 ace and 13 digs, Michelle Fuentes finished with 1 kill and 2 digs and Lizeth Alejos had 1 ace and5 digs.  UCC is now 7-7 overall and 3-2 in conference.  They will travel to Bergen Community College on Monday October 19, 2009 for a 7:00pm match.

The Owls met Northampton College in Cranford winning in three straight games.  Mabel Mansing had 2 kills, 22 assists, 6 aces, and 8 digs, Carmen Taco-Garces had 2 kills, 5 assists, 2 blocks, 1 ace, and 9 digs, Aura Arteta had 14 kills, 2 blocks, 3 aces, and 14 digs, Christine Bausch finished with 6 kills, 1 ace, and 6 digs,  Renee Dobbs, scored 6 kills, 4 blocks, and 3 digs, Olga Suchadola had 1 block, and 8 digs, Michelle Fuentes had 3 kills and 2 digs and Lizeth Alejos had1 ace and 8 digs.  The Owls are now 8-4 overall and will face Nassau Community College on Thursday October 15, 2009 in Cranford at 7:00pm.

Thursday October8, 2009:  Owls Take Match From Morris.

The Owls traveled to Morris Community College winning 3-1 in the best out of 5 match.  Aura Arteta had 8 kills and 16 digs, Mabel Mansing had 2 kills, 34 assists, 5 aces, and 17 digs, Christine Bausch had 14 kills, 3 aces, and 16 digs, Carmen Taco-Garces finished with 5 kills, 2 aces, 2 assists, 18 digs, and 3 blocks, Lizeth Alejo had 1 ace, and 7 digs, Olga Suchadola, had 2 kills and 17 digs, and Michelle Fuentes had 4 kills and 4 digs.  The Owls are now 7-4 overall and will play Northampton College on Tuesday October 13, 2009 in Cranford at 7:00pm.

Wednesday October 7, 2009: The Volleyball Drops Game Unexpectedly.


Olga Suchadolla Makes a Diving Save

The Owls were controlling the game nicely looking at taking the first game to victory, until Passaic County College rallied around to win.  The Owls began to make a comeback when they won the second game, but Passaic continued to press in the 3rd game winning and taking the 4th for the match win over the Owls 1-3.  Mabel Mansing had 2kill, 24 assists, and 6 digs,  Carmen Taco-Garces had 10 kills, 1 block, 3 aces, and 39 digs, Aura Arteta, had 6 kills, 3 blocks, and 23 digs, Christine Bausch finished with 5 kills, 3 aces, and 19 digs, Renee Dobbs, had 4 kills, 4 blocks, 1 ace, and 5 digs, Olga Suchadolla posted 3 kills and 22 digs, Michelle Fuentes had 1 ace and 1 dig, and Lizeth Alejos had 1 ace and 5 digs.  The Owls are now 6-4 overall and will travel to the Borough of Manhattan College on Thursday October 8, 2009 for a doubleheader with the Fashion Institute a 6:00pm.

Owl Fans come out to support

The Owls Volleyball Team regrouped to secure a conference win against Bergen Community College 3-2.  The ladies started off sluggish losing 2 of the first 3 games of the best of 5 match.  They were down in the fourth game, but found their groove just before being knocked off to capture the win.  Mabel Mansing had 27 assists, 2 aces, and 10 digs,  Carmen Taco-Garces had 5 kills, 4 assists, 3 blocks, 2 aces, and 10 digs,  Aura Arteta had 9 kills, 4 blocks, and 8 digs,  Christine Bausch finished with 12 kills, 3 blocks,7 aces, and 10 digs,  Renee Dobbs, had 5 kills, 4 blocks, 3 aces, and 6 digs,  Michelle Fuentes had 3 kills, 1 ace, and 5 digs, and Lizeth Alejos had 3 digs.  The Owls are now 5-4, and 2-2 in the conference, they will travel to the Community College of Morris on Tuesday October 6, 2009 for a 7:00pm game.

 Tuesday September 30, 2009:  Owls Take 3 Straight For Sweep.

The Owl Volleyball Team swept Lackawanna College 3-0 in Cranford to increase their record to 4-4 overall and 1-2 in the conference.  Mabel Mansing had 2 kills, 18 assists, 7 aces, 4 digs, Carmen Taco-Garces had 4 kills, 6 assists, 2aces, 12 digs, Aura Arteta 4 kills, 3 assists, 2 blocks, 2 aces, and 12 digs, Christine Bausch had 5 kills, 10 aces, and 8 digs, Renee Dobbs finished with 8 kills, 1 assist, 1 block, 3 aces, and 3 digs, Olga Suchodolla had 5 kills, 1 ace, and 2 digs, and Michelle Fuentes had 1 kill and 1 dig.  The Lady Owls will face Bergen Community College on Wednesday September 30, 2009 at 7:00pm

Wednesday September 23, 2009:  Volleyball  Team Takes Second Straight Sweep.

The Ladies won their second 3 game sweep in a row against Kingsborough Community College. Mabel Mansing had 1 kill, 13 assists, 3 aces, and 3 digs, Carmen Taco-Garces had 4 kills, 9 assists, 1 block, 2 aces, and 10 digs,  Aura Arteta had 8 kills, 1 block, 2 aces, and 10 digs,  Christine Bausch finished with 3 kills, 2 blocks, 6 aces, and 6 digs, Renee Dobbs had 6 kills, 1 block, 1 ace, and 5 digs, Olga Suchodolla had 14 digs and Lizeth Alejos had 5 digs and 1 assist.  The Owls will meet Nausea Community College on September 24, 2009 at 6:00pm in New York.  The Owls are now 3-2.


Tuesday September 22, 2009:  The Lady's Take 3 Straight.

The Volleyball Team won over hostes College in 3 straight games in Cranford.  Mabel mansing had 2 kills, 5 assists, 6 aces, and 2 digs, Carmen Taco-Garces had 1 kill, 13 assists, and 12 aces, Aura Arteta posted 2 kills, 1 ace, and 2 digs, Christine Bausch had 4 kills, 1 assist, 4 aces, and 1 dig, Renee Dobbs, had 5 kills, 1 block, 1 ace, and 4 digs, Olga Suchodolla finished with 2 kills, 1 assist, 4 aces, and 2 digs, Michelle 2 kills, 2 blocks, 2 aces, 1 dig, and Lizeth Alejos had 3 aces and 3 digs.

 The Owls lost 3-1 to the Fashion Institute of Technology in the best out of 5 match.  The Ladies started strong, but could not maintain momentum as FIT took the first two games and the last. UCC is now 1-2 overall.  Aura Arteta had 3 kills, 20 digs, 3 blocks, and 1 assist, Mabel Mansing finished with 3 kills, 17 assists, and 5 digs, Carmen Taco-Garces had 2 kills, 4 assists, 4 aces, and 10 digs, Renee Dobbs had 6 kills, 1 ace, 12 digs, and 3 blocks, Christine Bausch had 8 kills, 8 digs, and 2 aces, Olga Suchodola finished with 2 kills, and 21 digs, Lizeth Alejos had 2 digs, and Michelle Fuentes had 1 kill.  The Owls will Host Hostos Community College on September 22, 2009 at 7:00pm.

Tuesday September 16, 2009:   Lady Owls Victorious Over Bergen Community College.

The Owls won the first 2 games in hopes of sweeping in a 3-2 win.  However, BCC fought back to even the match at 2 and to force a fifth match.  UCC regrouped to win the final game 15-4 and secure the victory.  Mabel Mansing had 2 kills, 10 assists, 8 aces, and 12 digs, Carmen Taco-Garces had 7 kills, 12 assists, 4 blocks, 5 aces, and 17 digs, Aura Arteta recorded 4 kills, 4 blocks, and 25 digs, Christine Bausch had 10 kills, 5 aces, and 19 digs, Renee Dobbs had 7 kills, 3 blocks, 6 aces, and 9 digs, Michelle Fuentes 1 kills,1 ace, and 3 digs, Lizeth Alejos had 1 dig.

Monday September 14, 2009: Volleyball season starts off slow.

The Lady Owls lost their first game of the season to Passaic Community College 3 games to 2 on Monday night in Cranford. The Owls dominated the court in the first game winning 25-19, then going back and forth the rest of the match. Mabel Mansing had 2 kills 13 Assists, 2 aces, and 10 digs, returning from a knee injury two seasons ago, Carmen Taco-Garces had 6 kills, 15 assists, 1 ace, and 24 digs, Aura Arteta scored 7 kills, 4 blocks, 1 ace, and 7 digs, Christine Bausch had 7 kills, 1 ace, and 18 digs, Olga Suchodola had 6 kills, 2 aces, and 14 digs, and Michelle Fuentes finished with 1 block and 4 digs. The Owls will travel to Bergen Community College on Wednesday tip-off is at 7:00pm.
