June 24, 2008: Darpino Awarded Robert Zifchak Region XIX Scholar Athlete Award.

Vinnie Darpino has received the Robert Zifchak Region XIX Scholar Athlete Award for 2007-2008. Only one female and one male athlete are awarded this each year out of the entire region, which is comprised of 27 two-year colleges in NJ, Delaware, and Eastern Pennsylvania. Each applicant must meet certain qualifications athletically as well as academically. Vinnie participated in the men’s basketball program for two seasons and was selected 2^nd team All Region XIX and 2^nd Team All Garden State Athletic Conference after his freshman year in 2006-2007. He scored more than 850 points for a career average of 14 points per game and handed out more than 300 assists during his two year career. Vinnie graduated in the spring with an Associate of Arts in Business, and a GPA of 3.79. He will continue his academic and athletic career at Kean University in the fall.
