Personalized Career Testing
Career Services offers individualized assessments which may include:
*COPS - an interest inventory which compares the relative strengths of individual's interests in activities performed in different occupations.
*Focus a computer-based system designed to provide assessment of interests, values and skills. Focus also provides individualized exploration of educational and occupational options. http://www.focuscareer.com/register/ucc.cfm
*MBTI (Myers-Briggs Type Indicator) - a personality inventory which assists in finding an occupational match/career that parallels your personality type.
*SDS (Holland's Self-Directed Search) - an interest inventory and guide to educational and career planning which assists in making career decisions. 
Job Fairs
Career Services hosts both Fall and Spring Job Fairs and, throughout the year, Mini Job Fairs on the Cranford, Elizabeth and Plainfield campuses. For dates and information, visit the Counseling Services Center. 
Career Week
Career Week is held in Spring semester on the UCC campuses and provides Union County College students with the opportunity to explore college majors, to meet with individuals representing various professions, to meet with faculty and staff at the College, to attend career/employment related workshops and to learn of the services available through Career Services. 
Workshops
Resume Workshop
A resume is a focused summary of an individual's educational, employment and personal background. The purpose of the resume is to get the interview. Students may attend workshops or work individually with a Career Services Counselor to create a resume.
Interviewing Strategies Workshop
The interview serves two purposes. It provides the employer with the opportunity to assess the applicant's qualifications and gives the applicant the opportunity to evaluate the job.
Career Development Workshop
The four steps in planning a career include: Self Awareness, Career Awareness, Academic Awareness, and Professional Awareness. To learn more about Career Development, visit the Counseling Services Center. Assessment testing is available. 
Career Library
Visit the UCC Career Library at the Career Services Center. Students may utilize videos, career and occupational literature, and various career management tools. 
Career Services Newsletter
The Career, Employment and Transfer Newsletter (C.E.T. Tribune) announces opportunities in the areas of career, employment and transfer. The C.E.T Tribune is available on the Cranford, Elizabeth and Plainfield campuses.
