New Student Orientation

New Student Orientation (NSO) at Union County College is required for all first-time, full-time students entering the College during the Fall or Spring semester. At New Student Orientation students will learn how to use web services, set up college email, navigate the Owls Nest, meet with an academic advisor, and register for courses. Attending these sessions will help you build a solid foundation of student success.

Part time students are encouraged, but not required, to attend New Student Orientation. Sessions are offered on all three campuses: Cranford, Elizabeth, and Plainfield.

Please have one of the following items completed:

1. Completed the college placement exam (Accuplacer)

2. Submitted a high school transcript with a 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA and have graduated within the last 5 year

3. Submitted SAT scores (530 in Math and 540 in Reading)

4. Expected AP scores of >3 for English or Math

To prepare for your orientation experience, prior to attending a session, please complete the following items:

  1. Go to your personal email to obtain your unique Union County College User Name and Student ID#
  2. Log into Webservices:
    1. Go to www.ucc.edu
    2. Hover over “Current Students”
    3. Select Webservices
    4. Your user name is: included in the email provided by the college to your email address on your application
    5. Your password is UccMMDDYY (MMDDYY is your birthday)
      • Ex. If your birthday is May 5th, 1997 your password is Ucc050597
  3. Log into your Owl Email:
    1. Go to www.ucc.edu
    2. Hover over “Current Students”
    3. Select Webmail
    4. Click on Students
    5. Your user name is: included in the email provided by the college to your email address on your application
