Scholarships for Current Students

AAI Members Memorial Scholarship (Amateur Astronomers, Inc.)Recipients must be full or part-time UCNJ students who are enrolled as science or engineering majors. Preference will be given to students enrolled in or having taken Astronomy 101 or 102, or equivalent classes in the related sciences of physics, mathematics, chemistry, or geology. Recipients must have completed 24 credits with a minimum GPA of 3.0. Scholarships will be awarded based on academic achievement and financial need. Must submit application for Financial Aid but need not be eligible for financial aid.
Academic Learning Center ScholarshipAwarded to students who are active tutors in one of the UCNJ Academic Learning Centers.  Scholarships will be awarded to full-time students who have a minimum 3.0 GPA and demonstrate financial need.
Adjunct Faculty of UCNJ County College ScholarshipAwarded to full- or part-time students with a minimum 3.0 GPA and 24 credits completed at the time of application. Multiple awards will be made in selected disciplines. Required majors vary year to year.
Dr. Mandana Ahsani ScholarshipAwarded to students majoring in Psychology, who have a minimum 3.2 GPA at the time of application and who have completed at least 12 credits.  The scholarship will be offered to those students who demonstrate financial need.
Alatary Memorial ScholarshipAwarded to a full- or part-time student with a minimum 2.5 GPA enrolled in an Automotive Technology (A.A.S) or certificate program. Preference will be given to a student in financial need. Recipient must remain enrolled in their originally identified program, remain in good academic standing, and continue to demonstrate financial need to be eligible for renewal of scholarship for one additional year.
Alumni Association Part-Time ScholarshipAwarded to a part-time student with a minimum 2.0 GPA who has demonstrated a commitment to UCNJ. Preference will be given to a student in financial need.
Alumni Scholarship for Degree Completion (In Memory of Winifred Weislogel)Awarded to a full-time student with a minimum 3.0 GPA, who has completed a minimum of 40 credits at the time of application. Scholarship will be awarded to a UCNJ County resident who demonstrates financial need. Recipient must pledge their intention to graduate from UCNJ.
American Association of University Professors Scholarship (#1)Awarded to a full or part-time student who has completed at least 18 credits with a minimum GPA of 2.5. Recipient must have involvement in community activities and demonstrate financial need.
American Association of University Professors Scholarship (#2)Awarded to a full or part-time student who has completed at least 18 credits with a minimum GPA of 2.5. Recipient must have involvement in community activities and demonstrate financial need.
American Association of University Professors Scholarship (#3)Awarded to a full or part-time student who has completed at least 18 credits with a minimum GPA of 2.5. Recipient must have involvement in community activities and demonstrate financial need.
American Way ScholarshipAwarded to a full or part-time student enrolled in the ESL Program who has completed a minimum of 6 credit hours and demonstrates financial need.
Virginia and Henry Apelian ScholarshipTwo scholarships awarded annually. The first must be of Armenian descent with priority given to financial need and academic achievement. This recipient must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 and must have completed at least 15 credits. Second award to student with a minimum 3.0 GPA, who has completed at least 15 credits, and has financial need.
The Barnes-Taylor Family Memorial ScholarshipAwarded to a full-time student over the age of 25 who has completed a minimum of 24 credits with a 2.5 GPA and has applied for financial aid.
Alan R. Barwiolek Memorial ScholarshipAwarded to a student in ASL or Deaf Studies Certificate or Interpreters for Deaf Degree Program who has completed 12 credits (Certificate Program) or 30 credits (Degree Program) with a minimum 3.5 GPA. Recipient must have declared interpreting as a career track, demonstrate financial need, and be a U.S. citizen.
James C. Bashe Memorial ScholarshipAwarded to a student in the Allied Health Program, with priority given to a Physical Therapy student.
Eugene H. Bauer Family ScholarshipAwarded to a full-time student who has completed 30 credits towards an Associate Degree Program. Recipient must be a resident of UCNJ County or adjacent counties (Essex, Middlesex, Morris and Somerset).
Ernest & Georgia Bell ScholarshipAwarded to a full or part-time student pursuing a degree in Business Administration or Business Management. Recipient must have a “B- average” (2.7 GPA) and be a UCNJ County resident. Scholarship will be awarded on the basis of financial need.
Ceinwen Bergen Memorial ScholarshipAwarded to a full or part-time student in his/her sophomore year from a UCNJ County city (Elizabeth, Plainfield, Rahway, Linden, Roselle). Recipient must be a Humanities major in the Liberal Arts Program and demonstrate financial need. Recipient must have a minimum 3.0 or better cumulative GPA at the time of application for the scholarship.
Elizabeth J. Bielefeld Memorial ScholarshipAwarded to full or part-time students who are residents of UCNJ County and who plan to transfer to a four-year institution upon graduation. Preference will be given to residents of Summit, NJ. Recipients must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA at the time of application and have completed a minimum of 12 credits. Preference will be given to a student in financial need.
Hermann J. Bielefeld Memorial ScholarshipAwarded to a full or part-time student pursuing an A.A. or A.S. Degree in Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, Environmental Science, Physical Science or Languages. Recipient must have a 3.0 or better average and have completed 12 credits. Preference will be given to a student who is a single parent working full or part-time. Preference will be given to a student in financial need.
Donald E. Billiar Memorial ScholarshipAwarded to the applicant with the highest cumulative GPA (minimum 3.0) after having completed a minimum of 20 credits.
Samuel Blake Memorial ScholarshipAwarded to a full-time student enrolled in a law enforcement, teaching, or nursing program. Recipient must have a “B average” (or 3.0 GPA) and must have completed 12 credits. Scholarship will be awarded on the basis of financial need.
Elizabeth M. Blatz ScholarshipAwarded to a full-time student who has completed at least 12 credits and has earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. Scholarship will be awarded on the basis of financial need.
Joan and Pete Blatz ScholarshipAwarded to a full-time student with preference given to a student athlete. Recipient must demonstrate financial need, have completed at least 12 credits, and have earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
Frank and Penny Bolden Scholarship Awarded to a full or part-time student who has an overall GPA of 2.5 or higher having completed 12 or more credits. Recipient must submit Financial Aid application and be eligible for financial aid.
Cheyanne “Shay” Bond Memorial Scholarship Awarded to a full-time student who is taking a minimum of 15 credits per semester. The student must demonstrate financial need but be ineligible for federal need-based aid.
Bracher Family and Hesseman ScholarshipAwarded to a student who has completed 12 credits with a minimum GPA of 2.5. Recipient must be a U.S. citizen and demonstrate financial need. Priority will be given to applicants who are Hillside or Scotch Plains residents or are Hillside or Scotch Plains high school graduates.
Bramnick Law Firm ScholarshipAwarded to first-time, full-time, Freshmen, fall cohort students who are first in their family to attend college.  Students must be UCNJ County residents and demonstrate financial need.
The Nadine Brechner ScholarshipAwarded to a full or part-time student who has passed Institute for Intensive English courses and is enrolled in credit courses. Scholarship will be awarded on the basis of financial need.
Bristol Myers Squibb ScholarshipAwarded to a current or transfer full time, matriculated student. A minimum 3.0 GPA is required to renew scholarship.
The Bristol Myers Squibb Future Caregivers AwardAwarded to a new or continuing full-time student working towards an Associate in Science Degree in Nursing, with a 3.0 (B) or better average. The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of financial need.
Bristol Myers Squibb STEM Scholarship      Awarded to full-time students with a minimum 2.5 GPA. Recipient must either be of Hispanic or African American descent.
The Brown Family Paramedic ScholarshipAwarded to a new or continuing full or part-time student in the Paramedic Program, including those working towards an Associate degree in the Paramedic Program. Preference will be given to a student with financial need.
Drs. Thomas and Tressa Brown ScholarshipAwarded to an entering Plainfield High School graduate who is a full-time, matriculated student majoring in Elementary or Secondary Education. Recipient must maintain a 2.75 GPA to continue receiving this scholarship. The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of financial need.
Dr. Tressa and Dr. Thomas Brown ScholarshipAwarded to a current full time, matriculated student in Liberal Arts (Early Childhood Elementary Education Option Pre-K-3) or Liberal Arts (Education Option Grades 4-12). The student must have a minimum 2.75 GPA and demonstrate financial need and a commitment to UCNJ.
Bruckner Family ScholarshipAwarded to a full-time male student, born in the USA, 25 years of age or younger, who has completed a minimum of 24 credits with a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA at time of application. Recipient must be majoring in engineering and planning to pursue a bachelor’s degree after graduating from UC.
James A. Burns Memorial ScholarshipAwarded to a full or part-time student in the LPN curriculum, with a minimum “C average” (or 2.0 GPA) overall, but a “B average” (or 3.0 GPA) in the “core” curriculum. Recipient must have worked in the home health care field (2 years recommended), have demonstrated compassion and love for his/her work, and not have the means to pursue further certification in nursing such as an LPN degree. Letter of recommendation or references from patient families, supervisor or colleagues is required for consideration. Letter or statement from candidate about his/her career goals and how he/she would work to ensure quality care also is required. The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of financial need.
James and Sheila Campbell Scholarship

Awarded to a full-time student who has completed a minimum of 9 credits and has a minimum 2.5 GPA. Preference will be given to students who demonstrate financial need and to those students who reside in Elizabeth, NJ.
Rosemary and Eugene Carmody ScholarshipAwarded to a student majoring in either Business or Liberal Arts with an Education option. Priority will be given to a full-time student. Recipient must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA and have completed at least 24 credits. Recipient must have active participation in UCNJ and/or community programs. This scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic achievement, College or community participation, and financial need.
Rosemary and Eugene Carmody Scholarship #2Awarded to a full-time student who is in one of the Science or Nursing majors, has completed 24 credits, and has a 3.0 GPA at the time of application. Scholarship will be awarded on the basis of financial need. Recipient must be active in their community and/or UCNJ programs.
Dr. Selina D. Carter ScholarshipAwarded to a full- or part-time Black, female student who is 25 years of age or older. Recipient must be a single parent residing in Essex or UCNJ County. Recipient must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and have completed a minimum of 9 credits. Preference will be given to those students who demonstrate financial need.
 
Careers in Transportation ScholarshipAwarded to students who participate in the Supply Chain Management, Logistics or Truck Driving Programs at UCNJ.  Priority will be given to those students who demonstrate financial need.
Alba Castro vda de Figueroa Memorial ScholarshipAwarded to a full-time student who has completed 12 credits and has a minimum 3.0 GPA. Recipient must be employed as a current Academic Learning Center (ALC) tutor and must have served in this capacity for at least one semester. Preference will be given to a student who demonstrates financial need.
Cento Amici Scholarship in Memory of John NeiswangerAwarded to a student of Italian American descent who has completed a minimum of 24 credits with a 3.0 GPA. The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of financial need.
Helen E. Chaney ScholarshipAwarded to first-time, full-time students with a minimum 2.5 GPA, and in a matriculated major. Recipients must demonstrate financial need
Helen E. Chaney Completion ScholarshipAwarded to members of a first-time, full-time Fall student cohort.   Recipients must be entering the final year of their degree program and be on course to graduate on time.  Recipients must have a minimum 2.5 GPA and demonstrate financial need.
Helen E. Chaney Scholarship for Part-Time Students Awarded to part-time students with a minimum 2.5 GPA, and in a matriculated major. Recipients must demonstrate financial need.
The Christ Fellowship Kingdom Advance ScholarshipAwarded to a full or part-time student. Recipient must have a 3.0 cumulative GPA or above. Recipient must be a member of Christ Fellowship Church in Elizabeth, NJ, as verified in writing by the Senior Pastor of the Church. If more than one candidate qualifies in a given year, then the award will be given to the candidate with the most financial need as the second criteria, then by the higher GPA.
Citizens Philanthropic Foundation First in the Family ScholarshipAwarded to first-time, freshmen incoming students who are first in their families to attend college. Recipients must have graduated high school with a minimum 2.5 GPA.  Preference will be given to students who demonstrate financial need.
Citizens Philanthropic Foundation Scholarship for the FutureAwarded to a full-time student who has completed a minimum of 30 credits, but not more than 60 credits. Recipient must have a minimum 2.5 GPA at the time of award. Scholarship will be awarded to a student who demonstrates financial need.
Coca-Cola Refreshments ScholarshipAwarded to a full or part-time student who demonstrates financial need.
Dr. Wendell E. & Gwendolyn A. Clement ScholarshipAwarded to a full or part-time with a minimum 2.5 GPA. Student must be part of the Project Achievement or Inspire the Future programs. Preference will be given to those students who demonstrate financial need.
ConnectOne Bank ScholarshipAwarded to a full-time student with a minimum 2.8 GPA.  Recipient must be a UCNJ County resident.  Financial need is preferred, but not mandatory.
ConnectOne Bank Completion -ScholarshipAwarded to a first-time, full-time student with a minimum 2.8 GPA.  Recipient must be a UCNJ County resident, entering the final year of their degree program and be on course to graduate on time. Financial need is preferred, but not mandatory.
Colonna/Cormier ScholarshipAwarded to a full-time student coming immediately out of high school with a “B+ average” (or 3.5 GPA). The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic achievement and financial need.
Cooperative Counseling Services ScholarshipAwarded to full- or part-time students with a 3.0 GPA who demonstrate financial need.  Recipients must show promise and desire to succeed in school and must be UCNJ County residents.
Camille and Robert Cormier ScholarshipAwarded to a full-time student. The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of financial need.
Corporate Chefs ScholarshipAwarded to a student enrolled in a program at the Plainfield Campus who demonstrates financial need.
Joana Costa’s Scholarship for Dreamers in STEMAwarded to a full- or part-time student who is a naturalized U.S. citizen, permanent legal resident, DACA or undocumented immigrant pursuing higher education at UC, with preference given to DACA or undocumented students. Must have a minimum 3.5 GPA and be majoring in one of the STEM disciplines. Preference given to those students who demonstrate financial need.
County Commissioners Scholars Program (formerly Freeholders Scholarship)Funded by the UCNJ County Board of County Commissioners, the County Commissioners Scholars Program covers the cost of tuition and fees for entering or returning students who meet these criteria:
Full time enrollment status (12 or more credits per semester)
Minimum 3.0 or B high school average
UCNJ County resident
Annual family income of $95,000 or less
Applicants must file for federal and state financial aid; the County Commissioners Scholars Program will cover the difference between UC tuition and fees and financial aid received.
Daniel G. Covine Memorial ScholarshipAwarded to a full-time student who has completed 12 credits with a 3.0 GPA and is a resident of UCNJ County. Preference will be given to students in the Paralegal Studies Program; if no appropriate student is eligible, then the scholarship will be awarded on the basis of financial need.

Cranford Firefighters Mutual Benevolent Association, Local 37, ScholarshipAwarded to a full- or part-time student. Recipient must be a firefighter or a family member of someone in the Fire Service, paid or volunteer. Preference will be given to a resident of Cranford, NJ.  If no eligible Cranford resident is available, then the scholarship will be opened to UCNJ County residents meeting the other criteria.
Cranford Jaycees ScholarshipScholarships will be awarded to full-time students who are residents of Cranford, NJ. Preference will be given to students who demonstrate financial need.
Marie Carmelle Crepin Memorial ScholarshipAwarded to two full- or part-time, female African American students, one in Fall and another student in Spring.  Recipients must pursue a degree related to the healthcare field and have a minimum cumulative 3.2 GPA at the time of application. Preference will be given to those students who demonstrate financial need.
Rachel Kopel Dare ScholarshipPreference given to a female student majoring in Chemistry.
Joan David-Chance Scholarship Award is available to part-time students who are majoring in any medical field curriculum, including, but not limited to Nursing, Dental, Allied Health, Paramedic or Physical Therapy.  Scholarship will be awarded to a student who demonstrates financial need.
Judge Cuddie E. Davidson, Jr. Memorial ScholarshipAwarded to a full or part-time student with a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA at the time of application. The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of financial need.
Charles T. Davis, Sr. ScholarshipAwarded to students entering the Liberal Arts Program. To be eligible, students must have membership in Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.  Preference given to students residing in UCNJ County. Students must first apply for and accept financial aid prior to receiving scholarship. Continuing recipient(s) must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2.
Del Cid Dreamer ScholarshipAwarded to full- or part-time students who are naturalized US citizens, permanent legal residents, DACA or undocumented immigrants pursuing higher education at UCNJ, with a preference given to undocumented immigrants.  Recipient must have completed 12 credits and have earned a minimum 3.0 GPA.  Preference will be given to students who demonstrate financial need. A student may receive this scholarship only once.
Rachel Ann Drinkwater ScholarshipAwarded to a full-time, female Business major who is in the top quarter of her high school class or has maintained a “B” average the last two years in high school. Must maintain a 3.0 GPA while at UCNJ and plan to pursue a bachelor’s degree after graduating from UCNJ. Recipient must be a United States citizen and no more than 21 years of age.
Dubitsky-Belmonte ScholarshipAwarded to a full or part-time student who is a UCNJ County resident, with preference given to a Linden resident. Recipient must have a minimum 2.0 GPA at the time of application. Recipient must have the designation as one of the following from a U.S. Military Branch: Discharged Veteran/ Military Reservist/ Active Duty. If no student meets criteria, then applicants will be considered for award in this order: 1. Student who is a dependent of a US Military Veteran and a Linden resident; or 2. Student who meets one of the Military designations above and is a UCNJ County resident (preference for Linden residents).
The Joseph Dzuback Memorial ScholarshipAwarded to full- or part-time student majoring in Computer Science.  Recipient must have a 2.5 GPA at the time of application. Preference will be given to a student who demonstrates financial need.
Education is the Key ScholarshipAwarded to a full- or part-time student enrolled in ESL credit courses. Preference will be given to a student who demonstrates financial need.
Elizabethtown Gas “Fueling the Future” ScholarshipAwarded to full-time students who are enrolled in one of the STEM disciplines (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math).  Recipients must be UCNJ County residents and have a 2.5 GPA to receive award.
EMS Service to the Community ScholarshipAwarded to full- or part-time students currently serving as a volunteer EMT provider in a UCNJ County Rescue Squad. Preference will be given to a student who demonstrates financial need.
Engineering/Engineering Technology/Architecture Department ScholarshipAwarded to a full or part-time student, taking at least 6 credits and matriculated in one of the programs offered by the Engineering/Engineering Technology/ Architecture Department at UC. Recipient may receive this scholarship support for more than one year. Recipient must have a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA at the time of application for the scholarship and have completed a minimum of 12 college-level credits at UCNJ. Applicant must also submit a 300 word essay on the personal impact some aspect of engineering, engineering technology or architecture (e.g., a practitioner, historical development, economic impact, environmental influence, edifice), past or present, has had on their choice of major. The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic achievement, financial need and evaluation of the essay by a committee determined by the E/T/A Department.
Parker Enix-Ross Memorial ScholarshipAwarded to a first-generation college student. Recipient must be a UCNJ County resident, with a minimum 2.75 GPA.  Scholarship will be awarded to a student majoring in Communications, with a preference of Media, Entertainment Technology or Journalism.
The Equanimity ScholarshipAwarded to a full or part-time student with a minimum 3.0 GPA at the time of application and have completed a minimum of 12 credits. Applicant must complete an essay on how the scholarship will benefit them. Preference will be given to student who demonstrates a financial need.
Faculty ScholarshipAwarded to a matriculated student who has completed 24 credits with a minimum GPA of 3.2. The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of financial need.
Farrell Family ScholarshipAwarded to a full-time matriculated student majoring in Business or a Business option.  The recipient must have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.  Scholarship will be awarded based on financial need.
Donald J. & Margaret V. Feaster ScholarshipAwarded to a full-time student majoring in the sciences, with preference for obtaining an Engineering degree. Recipient must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA at the time of application for the scholarship and have completed a minimum of 12 credits. The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of financial need.
The Dr. Sondra Fishinger ScholarshipAwarded to a full-time, Educational Opportunity Fund Program (EOF) student who is a member of Chi Alpha Epsilon National Honor Society and who has completed a minimum of 12 credits, with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.  The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of financial need.  Student must submit application for financial aid.  Preference will be given to a student who intends to complete an Associates degree at UC and transfer to a 4-year institution.
The Dr. Sondra Fishinger Honors ScholarshipAwarded to a full-time, matriculated student who is a Rahway High School graduate.  Recipient must be enrolled in the American Honors program and intends to complete an Associate degree at UCNJ and transfer to a four-year institution.  Preference will be given to a student who demonstrates financial need. 
John G. Flynn Memorial ScholarshipAwarded to a full- or part-time student in the Engineering/Technology/Architecture Department, with preference given to those students in one of the Engineering Technology programs. Recipient must have a B- GPA. Preference will be given to those students who demonstrate financial need.
The Barbara H. Foley Scholarship (#1)Awarded to a UCNJ ESL student who has not failed the previous ESL course. Recipient must demonstrate financial need.
The Barbara H. Foley Scholarship (#2)Awarded to a full or part-time student enrolled in the Institute for Intensive English Program. Recipient must be in good academic standing.
Follett New Student Scholarship Awarded to first-time, full-time, Freshmen, Fall cohort students with a minimum high school GPA of 2.5.
The Fox Family Scholarship (#1)Awarded to a matriculated full or part-time student and a resident of UCNJ County who has successfully completed at least one English-as-a-Second-Language class and a minimum of 12 credits with a “C+ average” (or 2.5 GPA). Recipient must be of immigrant background and demonstrate financial need.
The Fox Family Scholarship (#2)Awarded to a matriculated full or part-time student and a resident of UCNJ County who has successfully completed level 6 in English-as-a-Second-Language class and a minimum of 12 credits with a “C+ average” (or 2.5 GPA). The recipient must be of immigrant background and be planning to become a teacher.
Oliver Franklin Scholarship Awarded to a full- or part-time student who has a 3.2 GPA at the time of application majoring in Business. Preference will be given to international students and those who demonstrate financial need.
Harry B. Freeman Memorial Scholarship (He Gave Everything to His Siblings and Their Children)Awarded for the purpose of supporting students who meet a financial hardship, with criteria established by the College.
Frog Crossing Foundation, Inc. ScholarshipAwarded to a full- or part-time female student on the basis of financial need.  Student must submit an application and be deemed eligible for financial aid.
Frog Crossing Foundation First in the Family ScholarshipAwarded to a full- or part-time female first-year students who are first in their families to attend college.  Funds from the scholarship may be used for tuition, fees and/or books.
Florence Fuchs Levy ‘01 ScholarshipAwarded to a full- or part-time student with a minimum 2.8 GPA. Recipient must be a non-traditional student, age 30+. Preference will be given to those students who demonstrate financial need.
Thomas Gallagher ScholarshipAwarded to a full time second year student who is majoring in a mathematics-related field and demonstrates financial need. Student must have a 3.0 GPA at the time of application.
Dorothy Gasorek Memorial ScholarshipAwarded to a full or part-time student who is a resident of UCNJ County. Preference will be given to a student in financial need.
The Arthur Geilfuss Memorial ScholarshipAwarded to a full or part-time student who has successfully completed a minimum of 24 credits with a minimum GPA of 3.0 and who intends to complete an associate degree. Preference shall be given to a UCNJ Township resident. Preference will be given to a student in financial need. There shall be only one scholarship recipient annually.
The Emma Geilfuss Memorial ScholarshipAwarded to a full or part-time student who has successfully completed a minimum of 24 credits with a minimum GPA of 3.0 and who intends to complete an associate degree. Preference shall be given to a UCNJ Township resident. Preference will be given to a student in financial need. There shall be only one scholarship recipient annually.
General Endowment ScholarshipThe purpose of this scholarship is to prevent and deter student need for loans. Scholarships will be awarded on GPA in rank order with available funds. The award is based on the nursing course being taken and number of nursing credits (NURE 232, NURE 231, NURE 260/270/280/290 – and NURE 291). Students must complete and file a FAFSA and a UC Scholarship application with the UC Financial Aid Office. Students who are repeating a nursing course are not eligible for consideration.

New Horizons Endowed ScholarshipAwarded to full-time students who have completed a minimum of 30 credits and are on track to graduate.  Recipients must be students who are LGBT or their allies, with a minimum 3.0 GPA at the time of application.  An essay is required on an LGBT topic.  If conducting research on LGBT, a synopsis may be submitted in place of the essay.  Financial need is important, but not essential.

September 11th Memorial ScholarshipThe primary criteria are to provide assistance to individuals and their immediate families who were impacted by the events of September 11, 2001 and who do not have adequate relief from other sources. In the event there are no candidates who meet the primary criteria, the scholarship will be awarded to students pursuing a degree in one of the emergency-serving professions. There are no academic criteria and the scholarship may be awarded to an entering full or part-time student.
