The Greiner Launch Scholarship

The newly established Greiner Launch Scholarship reflects Chris and Stacy Greiner’s dedication to opening doors for high-achieving UCNJ graduates pursuing their bachelor’s degrees at Rutgers University or the New Jersey Institute of Technology.

In addition to providing substantial financial support, the Greiner Launch Scholarship offers recipients the opportunity to earn an internship after their junior year at a software and technology company, giving them a powerful head start in their careers.

Purpose:

  • Provide last-dollar financial assistance (after non-loan aid) to top-performing graduating transfer students attending Rutgers or NJIT.
  • Offer a potential internship after junior year in a software and technology company.

Amount Available:

  • Each student may receive up to $10,000 per year for two years.
  • Award amount will be reduced if the student’s need (excluding loans) is less than $10,000

Criteria:

  • Full-time UCNJ student with a minimum overall GPA of 3.75 at the start of their final semester.
  • Completion of the Greiner Launch Scholarship Application.
  • Selection by the Greiner Launch Scholarship Committee, including representatives from the Greiner family.
  • Preference given to students demonstrating financial need.
  • Students must have a FAFSA or NJ Alternative Application on file with the UCNJ Financial Aid office.
  • Maintain a 3.5 GPA with a challenging course load and good disciplinary record during the first year at the transfer institution to qualify for the second-year award (GPA requirement may be waived down to 3.0 in documented extenuating circumstances).
  • Must be transferring to either Rutgers University or NJIT.

Administration:

  • Awards determined by the Greiner Launch Scholarship Committee, which includes the Vice President for Institutional Advancement, members of UCNJ’s academic and student development teams, and Chris and Stacy Greiner.
