Educational Opportunity Fund Program

Since 1968 The Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF) Program has been instrumental in creating opportunities for students from diverse backgrounds to pursue a college degree. EOF is a comprehensive student support service program that offers financial and academic assistance to eligible UCNJ students. The program’s purpose is to help EOF scholars achieve their maximum potential and persist through graduation.

The EOF Program offers a wide range of benefits and services including:

  • An additional financial aid grant of up to $800 per semester
  • Free pre-college summer programs for incoming first-year students
  • Registration, Career, Transfer, and Financial Aid advisement from a personal EOF Advisor
  • Leadership Activities and Workshops
  • Academic Support through tutoring and supplemental instruction
  • Internship opportunities
  • Opportunity to join the Chi Alpha Epsilon National Honor Society

Students interested in being considered for the EOF Program at UCNJ must fulfill the following requirements:

  • Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the New Jersey Alternative Financial Aid Application
  • Be a New Jersey resident for at least one year prior to applying
  • Meet the financial eligibility criteria set by the Office of the Secretary of Higher Education in the State of New Jersey

Students interested in the EOF program must complete ONE of the applications below:

As part of the EOF application process, all applicants are required to submit the following documentation:

  • Source(s) of Income for 2021 of Parent and/or Student
    • IRS Tax Return Transcript or IRS 1040 for the tax year 2021
    • Yearly benefits total for 2021 (i.e., SSI, Welfare, Disability, Unemployment, etc.)
  • High School Transcript or Diploma
