Welcome to UCNJ. The eight steps outlined below are the recommended sequence of enrollment. If you have been out for two or more full semesters (fall/spring) you must complete a new application.

1. Submit Application

Welcome to UCNJ’s admissions process. Click the button below to start your application.

Begin Application

Your application may take a few days to be processed. In the meantime, you may continue to the instructions of document submission and applying for Financial Aid.

Submit the following documents to the Admissions Department on the Cranford, Elizabeth or Plainfield campuses:

  • If needed submit official transcripts from any colleges you attended before returning to UCNJ
  • Submit immunization records, if not previously submitted

2. Apply for Financial Aid

  • Complete your FAFSA-Free Application for Federal Student Aid http://www.fafsa.gov/. UCNJ’s school code is 002643
  • Check your UCNJ County College email to confirm receipt of your FAFSA

3. Create your College Account

  • Check the email account that you provided in your application for instructions, username, and password

4. Register for Classes

  • Steps before registration
  • Steps after registration
    • Check your college email and the college website often for class cancellations
    • Schedule changes
      • You can add classes until the last day of registration
      • You will not be charged for classes dropped prior to the start of the semester
      • Classes dropped after the start of the semester are subject to the College’s refund policy

5. Pay for your Classes

  • Payment plan. Students must visit the Office of Student Accounts to make the initial payment and to sign a promissory note to participate in the plan
  • Chargeback
  • Purchase a parking permit

6. Obtain your Student ID

Bring a copy of your class schedule and a picture ID

  • Cranford – Student Services Center, Student Development Building
  • Elizabeth – Student Services Center, 5th Floor Kellogg
  • Plainfield – Student Services Center, Logos Building

7. Buy your Textbooks and Supplies

8. Go to your First Class

  • Refer to your class schedule
