The Business Center is a destination location at Union College on the Cranford Campus. The Business Center is for students who are majoring in Business, Business Management, Business Marketing, Accounting, Supply Chain Management, Blockchain, Esports, Sport Management, and Hotel, Restaurant, and Tourism Management. Our goal is to provide students with experiences and skills that enhance their understanding of industry concepts, so they feel PREPARED when they land their dream job!

Business Proposal Submission Instructions:

To submit your Business Proposal for the Pitch Competition – Email your Business Proposal to: SSBH@UCC.EDU

Subject Line: Business Proposal Pitch It!

Due on or before April 14, 2023 / 11:59pm.


  • March 31st – Student enrollment period for the competition and submission period of Business Plans.
  • April 14th – Deadline of enrollment/ submission.
  • April 17th – April 28th – First stage of the competition. Selection 10 student finalists.
  • May 1st – Announcement of the 10 prefinalists.
  • May 12th – Pitch Competition Day. Contestants must arrive by 4:30pm and meet Dr. Smalls in the Victor Richel Student Commons. Competition starts promptly at 5:00pm.

Get Bloomberg Certified

Visit the Bloomberg Lab, room N34 on the Cranford Campus, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am until 2:00 pm, to learn why earning a Bloomberg Certification may be right for you.

About Dr. Smalls, Director of the Business Center

Donovan A. Smalls, Ed.D., M.B.A., is the Director of Business Center at Union College. With over 25 years of business experience, Dr. Smalls’ career spans working for a Wall Street Brokerage firm, the Federal Communications Commission, and endeavors in entrepreneurship. Dr. Smalls’ experiences also include 7-plus years in higher education teaching business courses and developing and managing business programs. His specialty is business plan development and managing start-ups.
