Program Description and Course Offerings

The UCNJ Emergency Medical Studies program offers several different levels of training in the field of Emergency Medical Services including a Certificate (CT) or a Certificate of Achievement (CTA) in Emergency Medical Studies.

EMT 106: Emergency Medical Technician

EMT 106, is a 7-credit class that can be taken either as a stand-alone course or as part of a certificate or degree. It meets the National EMS Educational Standards and adheres to New Jersey State Emergency Medical Technician Regulations NJAC 8:40 and 8:40A.

The program is approved by the New Jersey Department of Health and Human Services – Office of Emergency Medical Services (www.state.nj.us/health/ems). Upon successful completion of the course students are eligible to sit for the National Registry examination.
